Transitus

Transitus Catholic Funeral Prayers App Transitus refers to "the time of passage through death to life". In the Christian faith, death leads us to Eternal Life. In the Franciscan tradition, it means specifically the transition of St. Francis from Death to Life. On the eve of his death, Franciscans worldwide celebrate the Eternal birth of St. Francis in a celebration called "Transitus". In his Canticle of Creatures, St. Francis writes, "Praised be You, my Lord, through Sister Bodily Death, from whom no one living can escape". That line, written near Francis's embrace of Sister Bodily Death, reflects death's importance and natural character in the life of all creation. While Francis was not afraid of what would come at the end of his earthly life, he believed it to be a transition, not an end. Through the prayers in this APP, we celebrate the life and death of our loved ones. APP has 7 sets of prayers. 1.
