Uneventful: Nothing Journal

Uneventful is a one-tap daily journal for the days when nothing happened. It is a minimalist diary with no text field. Most journal apps ask what you did today. This one already knows. If one line a day still feels like too much writing, this is the journal for you. ONE BUTTON Open the app, press "Nothing happened", close the app. That is the whole diary entry, and it takes about three seconds. If you want to be more specific, you can choose "Nothing much", "Absolutely nothing" or "Something almost happened". Details are not collected. THE STREAK A simple streak tracker for the easiest daily habit there is. Every consecutive day of nothing counts. Forgot yesterday? You can still log it. It was probably nothing. Anything older is lost to history. THE RECORD Your year in pixels: a heatmap with one square per day, shaded by how little happened. Underneath: days of nothing, your nothing rate, the longest streak, the most uneventful month, and the days that went unrecorded. ANOMALIES If something did happen, you can say so, in one word: work, health, family, weather or other. It is recorded as an anomaly and shown in a different colour. What happened is not recorded. This is not that kind of journal. WHO IT IS FOR People for whom a quiet day is the best kind. On-call engineers and nurses whose good shifts are the ones where nothing happened. New parents and carers. People in recovery, or living with a condition that flares, who already count the calm days in their heads. Anyone who finds gratitude journals a bit much, or who has given up on every other daily journal by February. THE WIDGET A Home Screen widget with the same button, so the day can be logged without opening the app. Long-press the app icon for a shortcut that does the same. Every entry is stamped, dated and numbered. YOUR YEAR IN NOTHING A share card for the end of the year, or any time you want to show people how little has been going on. And a certificate, as a PDF, suitable for framing or not. REMINDERS, IF YOU WANT THEM An optional evening reminder, in case you forget that nothing happened. An optional Monday summary of the week just ended. And on 1 January, your year in nothing. PAY FOR NOTHING Uneventful is free.
