Full description
Stellara turns your phone into a window on the sky above you — right now, from exactly where you're standing. A star map, a satellite tracker, a launch schedule and a space encyclopedia in one app. POINT YOUR PHONE AT THE SKY AR sky mode overlays the Sun, Moon, planets, stars and live satellites at their true positions. Hold your phone up and the sky labels itself. Drag to explore, tap anything to read more. Works in daylight, works offline, and works with the camera off. A REAL STAR MAP Stars coloured by spectral class, all 88 constellations, planets where they actually are, and thousands of satellites overhead including the ISS. Scrub time forward and back to see what is coming. Tap a star and read about it without leaving the app. NEVER MISS A ROCKET LAUNCH Every upcoming launch with a live countdown, the rocket, the pad and the mission, plus a push alert the moment it goes live. Watch the stream inside the app and talk to other people watching it. WHAT IS UP TONIGHT One screen for tonight: the Moon and its phase, which planets are visible, when the ISS passes over, meteor showers at their peak, and whether the aurora might reach your latitude. Save what you want to come back to. SPACE WEATHER AND NEAR-EARTH OBJECTS Aurora alerts for real geomagnetic storms after dark. The Kp index, solar flares and the solar wind. Close approaches sized against things you can picture, with impact-risk ratings straight from NASA and JPL. BUILT FOR THE DARK Night mode tints the whole app red so checking your phone does not cost you the dark adaptation you spent twenty minutes earning — at a strength you choose. And the sky map tells you the truth about its own accuracy: it corrects magnetic north to true north for where you are, says which one it is using, and tells you how to fix a confused compass instead of quietly pointing you at the wrong star. Aim at the Moon or a star you can already see and everything else snaps into place. Useful next to a telescope or a pair of binoculars. THE CODEX Rotatable 3D planets and a 3D map of the solar system. Thousands of exoplanets and small bodies from the live archives. Mars rover photos. The Moon in 3D with the places we have landed. Everyone who is in space right now. NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day, a searchable library of NASA photography and video, and the eerie recordings spacecraft have made of Saturn, Jupiter and interstellar plasma. REAL DATA, FROM THE PEOPLE WHO COLLECT IT Stellara does not invent anything. Every number in it comes from a public source — NASA, JPL/CNEOS, NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center, The Space Devs, Celestrak, SIMBAD/CDS and the NASA Exoplanet Archive — and every one of them is credited in the app. YOUR LOCATION STAYS YOURS Stellara uses your location to place the sky correctly. It is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to us, to advertisers, or to anyone else. The camera is used only for the live AR view — frames are never recorded, saved or transmitted. Stellara is free, supported by ads. Stellara Pro removes them and unlocks the live 3D globe, satellite pass alerts, deep-space tracking and more. Not affiliated with or endorsed by NASA, JPL, NOAA, or any space agency.

What's new

Launches, live broadcasts and the Codex now load from Stellara's own servers instead of calling the upstream space-data service from your phone. They keep working when that service is busy, load faster, and use less of your data.
