Full description
Take control of night-sky photography with Starlight, an Android camera built for long exposures, multi-frame processing and clear manual control. Choose the capture mode that matches your scene: Milky Way Use a single long exposure when your camera supports it, or let Starlight divide a longer total exposure into multiple frames. The app detects and aligns stars, rejects unsuitable frames and creates a stacked image on your device. Star Trails Capture a timed sequence and combine the brightest parts of each frame into a single star-trail image. Timelapse Set the capture duration, interval and output frame rate. Starlight captures the sequence and creates an MP4 video directly on your phone. Manual camera controls Adjust exposure, ISO, focus and white balance using the capabilities reported by your device. Total Milky Way exposure options range from 1/1000 second to 30 minutes. Use the self-timer to reduce movement before capture. RAW and on-device processing Save DNG RAW together with JPEG during compatible single-frame captures. Supported devices can also use RAW Bayer data during multi-frame Milky Way stacking. Finished photos and videos are saved to your device. Tools for shooting in the dark • Live brightness histogram • Focus peaking • Rule-of-thirds grid • Red night-vision interface • Battery and thermal status • Automatic protection against critical device temperature Find the Milky Way Optionally allow foreground location access to calculate the approximate direction and altitude of the galactic center. Starlight combines your location with device orientation sensors to guide the rear camera in real time. Location is optional, stays on your device and is not added to saved media. Private by design Starlight has no accounts, ads, analytics or cloud uploads. Camera images, location, sensor readings, stacking and video encoding remain on your device. Device compatibility Manual exposure, RAW capture, orientation guidance and star-trail mode depend on Android Camera2 and sensor support. Unsupported controls are automatically limited or disabled. Image quality and maximum exposure vary by device and shooting conditions. For best results, use a stable tripod, allow enough storage and battery power, and test your settings before an important capture.
