Full description
There is no finish line. There is only the next step. Stapp is a live step counter marathon you walk together with everyone else who is walking right now. Light your lamp, and the road counts every step you take. Stand still too long and your light goes out — the road keeps going without you, and the steps you walked are recorded. THE RULE Two minutes without a step is a warning. Three warnings and you are down to a final minute: one step saves you. Nothing else does. Your walk ends with a number, and that number is what stands. WHAT IS DIFFERENT Most pedometer and step counter apps are private — a chart only you see. Stapp is shared. The screen is a road at night: every other walker is a light on it, ahead of you or behind you, and the lights that went out stay where they stopped. You never see a leaderboard mid-walk. You see who is still lit. WHILE YOU WALK • Your step count, live, counted by your phone's own step sensor • How long you have been on the road • How many walkers are still lit right now • A quiet warning before your light fades — never a surprise elimination THE RECORD Every walk that ends is recorded: steps, time on the road, how it ended. The longest walk anyone has ever recorded stands as the standing record, with the name of whoever holds it and their one line, shown to everyone who opens the app that day. Beat it and the screen carries your name instead. MULTIPLIERS (OPTIONAL ADS) You can watch a rewarded video to double your score for fifteen minutes, up to four times in a walk, or — after forty-five minutes on the road — to score five times for five minutes. A multiplier changes your score only: your real step count is never multiplied, and the app says so on screen before you watch anything. If your light goes out, one ad per walk can put you back on the road. Nothing in Stapp costs money and there are no banner ads. BATTERY AND PRIVACY Steps come from the step sensor built into your phone, not from GPS and not from a microphone. Stapp never tracks your location. The foreground service that keeps counting while your screen is off is the same one Android uses for fitness apps, and it shows a notification the whole time it runs. You can delete your account and everything attached to it from inside the app, or from the web — no email to anyone required. Walk while the others stop.
