Rope remembers every hand that held it. A bend tied at dusk on a wet deck, a hitch that kept a fender honest through a whole crossing, a bowline that came out of a storm still readable — each one is a small argument between friction and intention, settled in seconds and trusted for years. Splice keeps twelve knots as field cards: category, difficulty, where the knot earns its keep, and the tying order written as short numbered steps you can follow with the line already in your hands. Save the ones you rely on, log every practice session with a date and a confidence mark, and shake the phone to draw one knot at random from your own collection when you want a drill rather than a decision. Results and favourite cards go out through the system share sheet, everything else stays on the device and works with no signal at all. The look is quiet: ochre paper tones, ruled lines instead of stacked cards, serif headings with letterspaced captions, dates set in a left-hand column like a working ledger.
