Fish Shelf is an offline-first library shelving workshop for student pages, volunteer reshelvers, homeschool classroom librarians, and media-center aides. Your job is simple and real: drop each spine into the correct call-number gap. This is not a reading journal and not a miniature library to decorate. A live bay treats every drag as a book insertion. Colored spines, stickers, and cutter order decide the gap. Wrong drops bounce back to the cart with a shelf-marker hint so you can read the run again. Practice with a seeded 48-title cart covering easy readers, juvenile fiction, 500s science, and biographies. Distinct spine colors and stickers help you see the order while your hands learn it. Train the skills pages actually use on the floor: Call-number decoder cards split a sticker into class, cutter, and year. Cutter-order drills cover author letters, work marks, and copy numbers. A biography house-rule toggle (B / 92 / 921) lets classroom libraries match local practice. Patron wayfinding gives you a seeded kid question, then you tap the matching range endcap. Exception cards handle oversize, graphic novels, and paperbacks that leave the default decimal run. When you are ready, race a timed cart-clear sprint. Finish with a three-star recap and a mentor overlay of the true gap. Everything runs offline. An on-device catalog, classroom profile, and daily cart shuffle keep the workshop ready without a network. Every spine has an accessible name for screen readers, and a home-screen widget places a spine-of-the-day sticker you can decode before you open the bay.
