Helvellyn Map

Explore Helvellyn with sharp offline maps from Spatial Terrain. The app includes day mapping at 1:25,000, 1:10,000 and 1:5,000, plus a night layer at 1:25,000. Choose Day or Night in the dedicated layer picker. Night stays on the 1:25,000 tiles at every zoom. Day can switch detail automatically with zoom or stay on a chosen map scale. All map tiles and included place names are bundled for offline use. Use GPS to show your position, follow an imported GPX route and see route progress, distance and bearing. Turn on the compass to orient the map to your heading and draw a heading line. Tap again to return to north up. Pan the map to use its centre as a navigation target. A target line is a straight bearing, not a checked walking route. Record a walk on your device, including while the screen is locked. Start and stop recording yourself, view saved walks and share them as GPX files. Android shows a recording notification with a Stop recording action when notifications are allowed. Search included place names, OS grid references or latitude and longitude. Select an original geotagged photo from Files to place its EXIF GPS position on the map. Photo pins remain for the current session. No account, subscription, advertising or analytics. Searches, routes, photos and GPS recordings stay on your device unless you choose to share a GPX file or send feedback by email. Coverage is limited to the Helvellyn map area, approximately 10 km by 6 km. The app reports locations outside this area. There is no automatic hike routing, live weather or mountain conditions information. GPS reception, phone sensors, battery and operating system power management affect navigation and recording. Carry appropriate navigation equipment and check the terrain and route. This version is for evaluating the Helvellyn test map. Send mapping feedback from the app menu.
