Shikaku Rectangles Puzzle is a classic Japanese grid logic game about numbers, area, and clean deduction. Divide the entire board into rectangles or squares. Every rectangle must contain exactly one number, and its area in cells must equal that number. A clue 6 may form a 1x6, 2x3, 3x2, or 6x1 rectangle, but neighboring clues determine which shape and position are possible. Rectangles cannot overlap, no cell may be left uncovered, and every clue must belong to one valid region. This puzzle is also known as Rectangles, Divide by Box, Square-it, number rectangle puzzle, and area puzzle. Players familiar with Rectangles from Simon Tatham's puzzle collection will recognize the core rules, while all levels and app content here are provided as an independent puzzle experience.
