Full description
Ryup is an alarm clock for people who switch the alarm off and go straight back to sleep. Instead of a button you can tap without waking, Ryup asks you to do something small out loud. You speak, the morning gets scored, and the alarm is done. By the time it stops you are actually awake, because you have already used your voice. WHERE THE AI COMES IN Your recording is turned into text, and a language model reads it to produce your morning score and a short summary of your mood. That is the whole of it. Ryup does not talk back to you, and nothing is listening while you speak - the scoring happens afterwards. The privacy policy names every company involved. WHAT A MORNING LOOKS LIKE - The alarm rings, rising gently from quiet rather than starting at full volume. - You tap Start Activity and speak your answers out loud. - You get a morning score, and your streak carries on. WHAT IS IN IT - Alarms with the days you choose, and a gentle wake-up that fades the sound in rather than jolting you. - A short spoken activity to finish the morning, instead of a snooze button. - A morning score that reflects how you have been doing lately, not a lifetime average that stops moving. - Streaks, and badges for the mornings worth remembering. - Past mornings, so you can look back at any of them. - A screen that changes through the day, from before dawn to night. NO SNOOZE There is no snooze button, on purpose. Snoozing is the habit Ryup exists to interrupt. There is always a way out of a morning if you genuinely need one, and it is deliberately more effort than staying with it. ABOUT YOUR RECORDINGS Ryup needs your microphone for the spoken activity, and asks for it at the moment you first use it rather than up front. What you record is used to score that morning. The privacy policy sets out who else sees your data and how long anything is kept. Ryup is free. There is no paywall, and no adverts.
