Full description
Every player drifts — rushing the exciting bars, dragging the hard ones — and you cannot hear your own drift while you're playing. Practice without a steady reference and the timing errors get rehearsed right into the piece, which is why teachers keep writing the same note on the same bar: with the metronome. Metronome gives you that steady reference with nothing in the way. Set the tempo on a rotary dial, tap the beat in if you already feel it, press start — and an accented downbeat plus a pulsing dot row keep the time while you keep your eyes on the music. KEY FEATURES • Rotary dial — drag through 40–240 BPM with fine, tactile control • Tap tempo — tap the groove you hear and the app locks it in from a 4-tap rolling average • Accented downbeat — beat 1 clicks louder, so you always know where the bar starts • Time signatures — 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, and 6/8, switched in one tap from the top bar • Beat-pulse dots — a flashing dot row mirrors every click, so you can practice with sound muted • Tempo markings — Largo, Andante, Moderato, Allegro, Presto displayed live as you change BPM • Screen stays on — wakelock holds the display through the whole session; the click stops when you leave the app on purpose, never mid-bar • No setup — no account and nothing to configure between you and the beat MADE FOR • Music students working scales, etudes, and exam pieces at graded tempos • Guitarists, pianists, and drummers building tempo discipline a few BPM at a time • Band and orchestra sectionals that need one shared reference tempo • Singers and producers checking a song's BPM by tapping along Start the piece ten under tempo, nudge the dial up two clicks at a time, and let the downbeat carry you through the hard bars — that is the whole method, and this is the tool for it.
