Skatch - Music Grid Recorder

Skatch is a simple grid-based sequencer for recording and arranging audio tracks on your phone. Record one track at a time, place clips on a grid, and build up a structured piece — fast, with zero friction. Perfect for capturing a song idea before it fades, sketching a chord progression, layering beatbox tracks, or any situation where you want to record and arrange audio quickly without opening a complex app. Deliberately stripped back to the essentials, Skatch keeps you away from the usual feature rabbit hole. No virtual instruments, no complex routing, no endless menus. Just what you need to capture a raw idea and give it a shape. ▶ GRID-BASED SEQUENCER The heart of the app is a grid of cells: bars and tracks laid out like a map of your song. Record one track at a time — a hook, a bassline, a rhythm — then layer them up, move, rearrange, and rework your ideas in seconds. The structure of your song becomes tangible, fast to build, and easy to iterate. Each cell represents one bar on one track. Record, trim, copy, delete, and move clips freely across the grid. Loop sections for jamming. Adjust volumes per track. Build your song block by block. ▶ FAST CAPTURE, ZERO FRICTION Open Skatch. Set your tempo. Hit record. That's it. Just pure, immediate capture of whatever's in your head right now. Perfect for: • Musicians who need to capture ideas quickly • Songwriters building rough demos • Beatboxers and vocalists layering loops • Guitarists who want to remember a riff or a chord progression • Anyone tired of losing song ideas to forgetfulness ▶ EXPORT & SHARE Want to take it further? Export a full mix of your project as a WAV file and share it with a friend or import it into your DAW. Skatch works great as your musical notebook — whether your ideas stay here or grow into finished songs somewhere else. ▶ KEY FEATURES • Grid-based sequencer (bars × tracks) • Low-latency audio recording and playback • Clip editing: trim, move, copy, delete with visual waveforms • Loop mode for jamming and iteration • Tap tempo and manual BPM control • Per-track volume control • Export your mix as a WAV file • Import external audio clips • Clean, focused interface — no distractions • Designed for speed and creative flow ▶ WHAT SKATCH IS NOT Skatch is not a production DAW.
