Full description
Slowroll puts something between you and the apps that eat your evening. Open TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts or anything else you choose, and instead of the feed you get a pause. Breathe for ten seconds. Answer why you opened it. Or do ten push-ups. Then the app opens, for as long as you said it could. Most of the time you will close it instead. That is the whole idea. Slowroll is an app blocker and screen time control built for the kind of phone addiction that looks like ten minutes and turns into two hours. Call it a dopamine detox, a screen detox, or just getting your evening back. FREE. FOREVER. Blocking is free. Every app, every rule, every schedule, no limit, no trial, no "upgrade to unlock". You will never be shown a price to get back into your own phone. That is not a launch promotion. It is the reason this app exists. The screen-time apps people hate are the ones that let you set everything up, then ask for money at the exact moment you need it to work. Slowroll will not do that to you. HOW IT WORKS 1. Pick the apps that get away from you. 2. Choose what happens when you open one: a breathing pause, a countdown, a question, or a physical challenge. 3. Choose how long you get once you are through. That is it. No account needed, no sign-up, no email. It works the moment you finish setup. WHAT YOU CAN SET, PER APP • Pause: paced breathing, a plain countdown, or just the question "why are you opening this?" • Challenge: push-ups, squats or burpees, counted by your phone's sensors • Or: a step goal, so the way in is a short walk • Or: your own task — "wash up", "10 pages" — on the honour system, with a hold-to-confirm • Session length: 1 minute to 12 hours. Moderation, not abstinence • A daily limit on opens, or on minutes, or both • Schedules: weekdays, evenings, overnight windows that cross midnight • Screen time limits that apply only when you want them to — work hours, bedtime, or all day • Strict mode: weakening a rule costs you the same challenge the rule asks for Plus a daily check-in, a focus streak, and screen time statistics that show where the hours actually went. PRIVACY, PLAINLY Slowroll uses Android's accessibility service for exactly one thing: to notice the moment you open an app you asked it to watch, so it can show your pause screen first. It is configured so it cannot read screen content at all — not what is on screen, not what you type, not what you tap. Your rules, your schedules and your statistics stay on your phone. Blocking works with no connection and never sends your usage anywhere. Signing in is optional and unlocks nothing. It exists only so a future version can carry your streak to a new phone. The app is complete without it. WHAT SLOWROLL WILL NEVER DO • Never hide or block its own uninstall. If you want it gone, it goes. • Never fake a system dialog or hide a system button. • Never paywall the blocking. • Never sell your data. There is nothing to sell. Strict mode makes it harder to weaken a rule. It never makes it harder to leave. Stop doomscrolling. Cut the brainrot. Block the apps that take your focus, and take the evening back.
