Sleeping Stories

Sleeping Stories is a gentle bedtime app for children aged 3 to 9. Forty-six short stories, each with three drawn scenes, read aloud in a calm voice while the word being spoken lights up on the page. It works entirely offline. No sign-in, no account, no adverts, and nothing your child does ever leaves the phone. SIX LANGUAGES, HINDI FIRST Every story can be read in Hindi, English, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil or Marathi. Tap a language at the top of the page and the story changes at once — same picture, same voice reading, a different script. READ ALONG, AT YOUR CHILD'S PACE • One sentence at a time, with each word highlighted as it is spoken • Three reading speeds, for a child following along or one drifting off • Simple-words retellings of many stories, for younger listeners • Bigger or smaller text, whichever is easier on the eyes PICTURES THAT ANSWER BACK Tap any animal in a scene and it makes its sound and gives a little hop — around forty sounds in all, from an elephant to a dhol beat. Any picture can also be printed as a colouring page. AFTER THE STORY • A short quiz on what happened • Badges at 1, 5, 10 and 22 stories finished • A sound-guessing game • Separate profiles, so each child keeps their own favourites and progress FOR BEDTIME • A sleep timer at 15, 30 or 45 minutes, which closes the story and fades to a good-night screen • Night dimming for a dark room • An optional nightly reminder at a time you choose • A soft lullaby MAKE IT YOURS Type in a story of your own and the app lays it out like any other, with pictures to match. Record yourself reading any story, and your child can play it back in your voice when you are not there. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no login, no data collection, no analytics, no adverts, no in-app purchases. Favourites, profiles, recordings and your own stories all stay on the phone.
