SkiTouringParks

SkiTouringParks is a web platform dedicated to discovering and following marked ski touring tracks in the Alps, designed to be used easily on both desktop and mobile devices. The service focuses on safety and convenience by showing which official ski touring tracks are currently open, closed, or partially open, so users can choose appropriate routes for their outings. SkiTouringParks’ core purpose is to help users discover ski touring tracks in organized “ski touring parks” that are managed by local resorts and organizations. It supports both beginners and experienced tourers with clearly defined, signposted routes that remain in controlled areas. The platform offers an interactive map of ski touring tracks across the Alps with detailed route lines and points of interest. It also provides real-time opening status for each track (open, closed, or partial), reflecting information supplied by partner resorts and organizations. The interface is multilingual, currently available in English, French, German, and Italian to serve international users. Track information and status are maintained directly by ski areas, mountain organizations, or tourism offices rather than anonymous users, which increases reliability. The platform aggregates these official updates so users can quickly see where ski touring tracks are prepared and monitored on any given day. Before heading out, users open the platform on their phone or computer, select their region, and browse available tracks along with their current status. This helps them plan safe training laps, after-work tours, or introductory outings on marked, avalanche-controlled routes within ski areas.
