Simply Step Tracker has no server. Your steps, walks, routes and health entries are written to a database on your own phone and are never uploaded, not to us and not to anyone. There is no account, no sign-in, and no analytics or crash-reporting SDK of our own. Two things ever talk to the network: Google's ads SDK in the free version, and — only if you open a walk's map — the map tiles for that area. The ads SDK never sees your steps, walks, routes or health data, and the map server only receives the area of map being displayed, never your recorded route. - Export a CSV of your daily totals for a spreadsheet - Export a full JSON backup you control - Delete any entry, or everything, whenever you like - Uninstalling takes it all with it, because nothing was stored anywhere else SIMPLY PRO Every feature is already yours. Pro does one thing: it removes the ads — the ad SDK is never even initialized and never contacts the network. No feature is locked behind it, no badge you cannot earn, no report you cannot open. Permissions: physical activity to read your step counter, and location only while you are recording a walk so the route can be traced. Never in the background, and never when no walk is running.
