Shot Away: Photo Cleaner

Your gallery grows faster than you can sort it. Ten shots of the same sunset, a fifty-frame burst of your kid, near-identical copies after every session — and the storage is gone. Shot Away finds those series on its own and shows which frame to keep. WHAT IT DOES • Groups similar photos — both burst sequences and simply lookalike shots • Scores every frame: sharpness, exposure, saturation, colour harmony, rule-of-thirds composition, faces and open eyes • Suggests what to delete, always keeping the highest-scoring shot in a series • Shows how much space you will free before anything is deleted FILE NAMES FROM PLACE AND DATE IMG_20240612_143255.jpg becomes 2024-06-12_Italy_Rome_143255.jpg. Country and city come from EXIF coordinates via a built-in table of 69,000 cities — offline, with no network requests. The frame number from the original name is preserved. Every new name is previewed before anything is applied. CAPTURE DATE REPAIR The app finds files whose EXIF date disagrees with the system date — a common result of copying from another phone or running photos through third-party tools. It also reads dates from file names such as IMG-20240612-WA0001.jpg, which is often the only surviving date on photos received in messengers. Free and unlimited. PRIVACY Your photos are analysed on the device and never leave it. No accounts, no advertising, no servers of ours. The app sends anonymous usage statistics — how many photos were scanned, how long a scan took, which screens were opened — so we can see what to improve. The contents of your photos and the places they were taken are never part of that, and never will be. In the EU and the UK you are asked first, and declining changes nothing about how the app works. Internet access is used for two things only: purchases through Google Play, and these statistics. You confirm every deletion: the app opens the standard Android dialog and never touches a file without your consent.
