Full description
A decibel meter, sound meter and noise meter in one app for quick noise level checks in dB. Sound Meter: Decibel dB Level measures noise with your phone's microphone and shows it as a live decibel reading on a large gauge. One tap on Start and you get the current level, the minimum, the energy average and the maximum, plus a plain-language verdict such as "Busy office" or "Concert". WHAT YOU CAN DO • Read sound level in dBA, dBC or dBZ, switched from the chip at the top of the screen • Watch a smooth needle: readings use a Fast (125 ms) time weighting • See at a glance whether the level is quiet, like normal conversation, like traffic, or in the hearing damage zone • Get warned with OVER when the microphone is saturated and the real level is higher than the number shown PAUSE, SUMMARY, RESUME The Start button sits right under the gauge and turns into Pause while you measure. Pause after 30 seconds or longer and a summary card appears with the duration, average, maximum, dose and 8-hour TWA of the standard you picked. Tap Resume to carry on or New session to save it to the session log and begin again. NOISE DOSE (WHO AND OSHA) Choose WHO (85 dBA criterion, 3 dB exchange rate) or OSHA (90 dBA criterion, 5 dB exchange rate) over an 8-hour day. The app shows your daily dose in percent, the 8-hour TWA and how long until you reach 100 %. The dose is always calculated from the A-weighted level. A 7-day chart shows how each day compared, and a vibration plus an alert tells you when the level has stayed at or above the criterion for 10 seconds. KEEP A RECORD • Noise events: each period above your own threshold lasting at least 5 seconds is stored with time, peak and average; share the list as text • Session log: LAeq, Lmax, L10 and L90 for every session of 30 seconds or more; export as CSV • Summary report across your sessions, unlocked by watching a short rewarded video CALIBRATE TO YOUR PHONE Set an offset between −20 and +20 dB to match a reference sound level meter, or run Quiet Cal for a quick approximate reference in a quiet room. If the room is too loud for that reference, the app says so. GOOD TO KNOW • The screen stays awake while measuring; optional auto-stop after 4 hours • Measuring stops when the app goes to the background and continues when you return • The app does not save audio; it only calculates levels from the live signal • A phone microphone is not a certified sound level meter. The readings are for everyday checks, not for legal or compliance use. Use it at work, at a concert or gym, in a classroom, next to a busy road, when a neighbour's music is too loud, or to check a speaker or headphones setup.

What's new

The Start button now sits right under the gauge, and tapping the gauge starts too. Pause a measurement of 30 s or more to see its summary (duration, average, max, dose, TWA), then Resume or begin a New session. Choosing WHO or OSHA now shows that standard's full-session dose.
