Shoutt

Shoutt is a campus-only rental marketplace. Verified college students lend what they already own, borrow what they need for a day or a week, and settle up with a deposit that both sides can see. Need a camera for one shoot, a blazer for tomorrow's fest, a calculator for one exam? Buying it makes no sense. Someone three hostels away already owns it. HOW IT WORKS 1. Sign up with your college email One OTP on your college address puts you on your campus. No strangers from across the city, only students from your own college can see and book your stuff. 2. List it, or Shoutt for it Have a camera, a cycle, a calculator, a projector? List it with a per-day price. Need something instead? Post a Shoutt and let the campus answer. 3. Book, meet, return Pick your dates, pay the rent and the refundable deposit in the app, meet on campus to collect. Return it on time and the deposit comes straight back. WHAT YOU CAN RENT Cameras, projectors, cycles, instruments, lab kits, formal wear, gaming consoles, textbooks, tools. If a student owns it, it can be rented for a day or a fortnight. SHOUTTS: ASK THE WHOLE CAMPUS Can't find it in the feed? Post a Shoutt describing what you need and by when. Anyone on campus who has it can reply straight away. Spend coins to mark a Shoutt urgent and push it to the top. BUILT FOR TRUST Campus-verified accounts Every account is tied to a verified college email and mapped to a campus. Profiles carry a name, department and year not an anonymous handle. A Trust Score you build Every completed rental, on-time return and rating feeds a visible trust score, so both sides know who they are dealing with before they meet. Refundable security deposit The borrower pays a deposit alongside the rent. Shoutt holds it for the length of the booking and refunds it once the owner confirms the item came back. Damage reports and disputes If something comes back broken, the owner files a damage report with photos. Our team reviews both sides before any deduction is made from the deposit. Moderation on every post Listings and Shoutts are screened automatically for illegal, unsafe or scam content, and anything a student reports lands in a human review queue. CHAT BUILT FOR HANDOVERS Message inside the booking, agree a spot, and share live location while you walk over. No phone numbers handed to strangers. COINS THAT ACTUALLY PAY OFF Earn coins for completing your profile, your first rental, honest reviews and referrals. Spend them to mark a Shoutt urgent or to knock down platform fees. TRANSPARENT MONEY The full breakdown of rent, deposit, platform fee and GST is on screen before you pay. Listing is free. Payments are made over UPI and confirmed by our team, so money never passes directly between two students. Owners receive their payout after the rental is completed.
