About SHIKSHA: SHIKSHA is an accelerated technology-enabled literacy and enhanced learning program by the Shiv Nadar Foundation. The initiative started in 2012 and focuses on creating literacy for empowered and inclusive society. There are two flagship programs under the Shiksha. The Shiksha For Children program, which focuses on enchaining education standard in rural elementary schools and Adult Literacy Program, which focuses on adult literacy in rural India. It has devised a unique approach to drive adult literacy initiatives under a speared program – ADULT LITERACY. This uses an ICT-based methodology to teach the fundamentals of reading, writing, and arithmetic skills to illiterate adults who have not attended a formal school. The target group for the program is anyone who may have missed the opportunity of formal education, particularly individuals above 15 years of age. Our Commitment to SHIKSHA Centers: Educational Empowerment: Equipping educators with specialized tools to enhance teaching methodologies tailored to adult literacy centers.
