Shijro: Family Tree & History

Your grandmother knows who everyone in that old photo is. Your uncle remembers the year the family moved house. Shijro is a free family tree app where relatives write down and record what they remember, so your family history no longer depends on a few people's memories. Build your family tree together Invite relatives with a link in the family group chat, or with a QR code when you are in the same room. Each person adds what they know, and you decide who can edit and who can only look. The tree is drawn the way you would sketch it on paper: couples side by side, parents above, children below. Zoom out and more relatives come into view. Tap any two people and Shijro tells you how they are related, from grandmother to great-great-granddaughter. Record family stories in their own voice Tell a story by talking, or type it. It can be about you or anyone in the tree, including relatives who have died. Each story is placed in that person's life in order, alongside the dates the tree already knows. Shijro uses AI to write out every recording in the language it was spoken in and translate it into yours. When you play it, the words follow along with the voice, so a grandchild who never learned the language can still understand. You can also talk over an old photo. Whoever opens it later hears the story behind it. Ask your grandparents while you can Send a relative a question, such as "What was your first job?" or "Who is everyone in this photo?" Share it as a link in any chat or message. Shijro can translate your question into their language, and they answer by talking, without installing anything. Once you let it in, their answer becomes a story in their voice. Shijro lets you know when a relative asks or answers you, and when someone tags you or writes about you or your close family. The family album sorts itself by decade, and you can zoom in on faces and add a caption and the year. Keep certificates and letters too Documents sit alongside photos and stories, either on one person or on the whole family. Each person's page shows their stories in order with their dates and photos. A date can be exact, just a year, or unknown. For relatives who have died, you can note the cemetery, drop a pin for the grave and add a photo of the headstone. Shijro does not search census records or match you with strangers. If you do genealogy research elsewhere, you can add what you find here. Free and private Shijro is free and has no ads. Only the people you invite can see your family tree, and your data is never sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers. Recordings are written out and translated by AI models through our cloud provider, for your family only. An answer sent from a link reaches them only after someone in the family lets it in. Crash reports never include your family's content. Anything deleted waits 30 days before it is gone for good. Sign in with Google or email, and delete your account whenever you like.
