Full description
Guard Patrol is the handset app for anyone who has to protect a building, site or asset and prove the rounds were done. Security companies, hotels, property and facilities managers, estates, warehouses and care settings use it the same way: the person on patrol carries an Android phone, scans NFC tags or QR codes at checkpoints as they walk, and the office sees the patrol in the ShieldMarshal web portal. What the app does • Reads NFC checkpoint tags or QR codes fitted around the site and records each scan with the time. • Shows the route and whether a patrol is due now, running late or closed. • Starts and ends a shift with a photo and a location fix, so the office knows who was on site and when. • Keeps working without signal. Scans, shift starts and issue reports are stored on the phone and sent as soon as it is back online. The Uploads screen shows what is still waiting. • Lets the patroller report an issue with a photo from the camera or gallery, typed or dictated. • Works on a company phone or on the patroller's own phone. • Manager Mode for supervisors: pair a handset, set up checkpoint tags and check pending uploads. Who it is for Guard Patrol is a business app. There is no public sign up in the app. Your organisation buys per site licences in the ShieldMarshal web portal, pairs each phone from the portal with a pairing code, and gives each patroller a Guard PIN. A patroller can use a company phone or their own phone. If your organisation has not paired your phone, the app cannot be used. There are no in app purchases and no adverts. Permissions NFC to read checkpoint tags. Camera to scan QR codes and for shift start and issue photos. Location while the app is open, to confirm the patroller is at the site at shift start and at checkpoints. Biometric or screen lock, so a patroller's own phone can confirm who is starting a shift. The app never receives your fingerprint or face, only whether the phone accepted it. Internet to send patrol records to your organisation's account. Location is only read while the app is in use. The app does not track anyone in the background. Data Patrol records belong to the organisation that pairs the phone and are stored in London, United Kingdom. They are not sold and are not shared with anyone else. What's new

Personal phones: patrollers can now use their own phone with a pairing code from the web portal. The phone's own fingerprint, face or screen lock is checked when a shift starts. Checkpoints can now be scanned by NFC tag or by QR code, so NFC is no longer required. QR also works as a backup when a NFC tag will not read.
