Full description
ShareFoodz is an international food-gifting platform that lets people buy meals, groceries, and everyday products from local stores in one country and share them instantly with friends and family in another through unique redeemable codes. No physical shipping is involved. The receiver simply presents the code at a participating location and collects the item. The concept began as GoFoodz and was later refined into ShareFoodz to better capture the emotional core of the service: the act of sharing food across borders as an expression of care, connection, and cultural continuity. At its heart, ShareFoodz exists to close the distance that migration and modern life create between people who love one another. A parent in New York can buy a familiar meal for a child in Kingston. A sibling in London can send groceries to relatives in Mandeville. A friend abroad can treat someone back home to jerk chicken, patties, or a full family meal without the complications of international shipping or customs delays. The Core Idea Traditional gift-sending across borders is expensive, slow, and often impersonal. Money transfers help, but they leave the recipient to buy the food themselves. Care packages arrive late or damaged. ShareFoodz removes those friction points. The buyer selects real products from real local suppliers, pays through a secure checkout, and receives an 8-character alphanumeric code unique to that purchase. That code is shared digitally—by message, email, or any preferred channel—with the intended receiver. The receiver takes the code to any participating branch of the supplier (or any location within the agreed regional network) and redeems the item on the spot. The model works because it treats food as both a practical necessity and a cultural symbol. In many Caribbean, African, and Asian communities, food is how love is expressed. ShareFoodz makes that expression possible at distance and at scale. ### How the Platform Works for Everyday Users A typical user journey begins on the home page or “Browse Stores” section. Stores are organized into clear categories: Fast Food, Groceries, and General Products. Users can filter by location, cuisine type, or popularity. Each store has its own customizable storefront featuring branding, photos, menus or product lists, and sometimes social links. Product pages show clear pricing (with live currency conversion where available), descriptions, and images. When an item is added to the cart, the system calculates the total in the buyer’s preferred currency while keeping the supplier’s local pricing intact. A fixed platform checkout fee (currently structured as a modest flat USD amount) is added transparently. Payment is processed through a secure card-based flow designed for international cards. Upon successful payment, the system generates the unique redemption code, records the purchase in the user’s “My Purchases” or “Receipts” section, and displays the code prominently so it can be copied and shared immediately. The redemption experience is deliberately simple. The receiver shows the code at the store. Staff verify it through the supplier dashboard or a dedicated verification tool. Once confirmed, the item is released. Codes are designed to be regionally redeemable rather than locked to a single physical branch when the supplier supports multi-location fulfillment—this is especially useful in places like Jamaica where a meal bought against a Mandeville storefront can still be collected in Kingston or elsewhere on the island. Users maintain dual-profile capability. The default profile is Sender/Receiver: anyone can browse, buy, share codes, view purchase history, and manage preferences. A separate Supplier profile exists for businesses that want to list inventory and fulfill orders.
