# Accessibility Service Usage ShadowMate uses Android's AccessibilityService API to provide its Quick Switch and accessibility-based interaction features. When the user voluntarily enables the Accessibility Service, ShadowMate can identify the currently active app and provide quick switching between apps through its floating interface. This allows users to move between their installed apps without repeatedly navigating through the system's Recent Apps screen. The Accessibility Service is also used to support ShadowMate's floating controls and related interactions when the user activates these features. # Why ShadowMate Needs Accessibility Service The Accessibility Service is required so ShadowMate can: • Provide Quick Switch functionality between apps from the floating interface • Identify the currently active app to support quick app switching • Support interactions required by the floating Quick Switch interface • Provide convenient access to supported controls while another app is in use The Accessibility Service is **not required for every feature of ShadowMate**. Features such as the floating keyboard, Sinhala and English typing, volume and brightness controls, gaming mode, UI themes, and other functions may operate independently or use their respective Android permissions and APIs. # User Control and Privacy Accessibility Service access is enabled only by the user through Android system settings. Users can disable the service at any time. ShadowMate does not use AccessibilityService to collect passwords, banking information, credit card information, or other sensitive personal information. The service is used to provide the app's declared functionality and is not used for advertising or selling user information. # Public Shield Public Shield is designed to help users avoid accidentally playing unwanted or inappropriate sounds from videos in public places. When Public Shield is enabled, ShadowMate monitors audio playing on the device for the sound categories supported by this feature. When a supported sound is detected, the feature can automatically mute the device to help prevent accidental playback in public. Public Shield is an optional feature and can be enabled or disabled by the user. #Quick Switch & Floating Controls ShadowMate provides a floating interface that gives users quick access to: • Switch between apps • Add app shortcuts for faster access • Control device volume • Control screen brightness • Access the control panel • Use the floating Sinhala/English keyboard • Enable Gaming Mode ShadowMate includes two interface designs: an original colorful interface and a simplified low-color interface for users who prefer a less visually intensive design. ## Floating Sinhala & English Keyboard ShadowMate includes a floating keyboard supporting Sinhala and English typing. Users can position the keyboard while using supported apps for convenient multilingual text input. #Gaming Mode Gaming Mode provides quick access to selected ShadowMate controls while gaming, allowing users to manage supported functions without unnecessarily leaving their game. #Privacy & User Choice ShadowMate's optional features are designed to be controlled by the user. Permissions are requested only when required for a particular feature, and users can disable optional features and permissions through the app or Android system settings.
