Sepamo: Less Addictive Phone

A less addictive phone. Not a worse one. You pick up your phone for a reason, and the feed gets there first. Sepamo gets there first, with what you came for: the list at the shop, the book at bedtime, your travel time on weekday mornings. Sepamo is a home screen (launcher) for Android. Tell it in a sentence what you want from your day, and it puts each thing on your home screen when its moment comes. The rest of the time it's quiet, and every app is still a swipe away. NOT ANOTHER BLOCKER The usual fixes for phone addiction make the phone worse: app blockers, screen time limits, grayscale, deleting Instagram, a dumbphone. They work for a week. Then you need the phone for something real, the fix gets in the way, and it's the first thing to go. It was never your willpower. Sepamo goes the other way: it makes your phone better at what you need, so there's less room for doomscrolling. SAY IT Type or say what you wish your phone did. "Get me off my phone an hour before bed." "Keep email out of my morning." "Italian flashcards on my commute." "Show me where I parked." If Sepamo needs to know something, like when you'd realistically do it, it asks. CHECK IT The plan comes back in plain words: what it waits for, and what it does then. Nothing is saved until you say so. FORGET IT Once saved, a plan runs on your phone the same way every time, without AI. NOTHING IS LOCKED UNLESS YOU ASK When you open an app you said you'd skip, a sentence you wrote is in front of it, and one tap closes it. If you really want an app blocked, ask, and Sepamo blocks that one app. Never the whole phone: maps, banking, tickets and messages always stay a swipe away. WHAT A PLAN CAN WAIT FOR A time of day or a day of the week, a date, sunrise and sunset, the first time you unlock your phone, where you are or the kind of place you're near, a place you haven't been to in a while, whether you're walking, cycling or driving, your calendar, birthdays, the weather, an app you open, how long you've been in it, an app you've stopped opening, a notification, your next alarm, headphones and other devices. Combine them, or hold them for a while before they count. WHAT IT DOES THEN Puts a card on your home screen: an app, a note, a checklist or a to-do list, a journal, the weather, today's calendar, a travel time, where you parked, what's playing, flashcards, a timer, a countdown, a photo like your gym card, your screen time, a website, your own widgets. Or it sends a notification, sets an alarm or timer, turns Do Not Disturb on or off, opens an app or a link, or puts your own words in front of an app. QUESTIONS Is it a minimalist launcher? Partly. Like one, it keeps the home screen calm and puts every app in a list a swipe away. Unlike one, it isn't empty for the sake of it: it shows what you need at that moment, then clears it again. Does it replace my home screen? Yes, that's what lets it bring things to you. You can switch back in Android's settings whenever you like. What does it cost? Making plans yourself, backup, sync and export are free. The AI planner, which writes plans from what you say, comes with Basic or Pro, and Pro can also check the web for you. Whichever you pick, the first week is free: cancel in Google Play before it ends and you pay nothing. What happens to my data?
