Full description
DNA of Nations — Y-DNA genealogy of peoples, tribes and lineages An app about paternal lines: which Y-DNA haplogroups and SNP branches occur among the peoples of the world and among the teips, tribes and surnames within a people, how these lines are distributed, and who is closest to whom on the paternal line. It is a reference and an atlas, not a DNA test: the app analyses nothing and asks for none of your data — you explore results that are already published. How it is built The app is made of sections. The general atlas gives Y-DNA portraits of the peoples of the world; the in-depth sections open a single people down to its tribes, surnames and lines. From a people's card in the atlas you can step into its in-depth section and back. New peoples arrive with updates. In the app now — Peoples of the World: 196 peoples, the dominant line, the share of every haplogroup, a map, comparison of peoples — Chechens: 137 teips by tukkhum, an SNP tree, the closest teips on the paternal line, ancient DNA of the Caucasus on the map — Kazakhs: the juzes and 26 tribes, the haplogroups of every tribe and its place among its neighbours by line, a tree — Scots: 362 surnames, their branches and ages, the closest surnames, ancient burials of Scotland on the map What you can do — see the distribution of haplogroups by share — open the SNP tree and see which branch a line grows from — compare peoples, teips, tribes and surnames with one another — find who is closest to whom on the paternal line and how long ago their common ancestor lived — see ancient DNA beside today's lines — on the map of the Caucasus and of Scotland — search by name and filter by haplogroup Free and paid Every people, teip, tribe and surname is open for free: the make-up of its lines, the tree, the map. A single purchase opens the relationships between them — comparison and closeness on the paternal line. Two packages: comparison of peoples in the atlas, or full access to every section. No subscription. Interface in English, Russian, Kazakh and Turkish. Where the data comes from The data is gathered from open Y-DNA test results and published academic studies. Testing is voluntary, so the figures describe those who were tested, not a whole clan; where few have been tested, the app says so plainly. Disputed and unproven claims of origin do not make it into the app. Who it is for — those who know their teip, tribe, surname or people and want to see its genetic portrait — those who have taken a Y-DNA test and are looking for the peoples and lines where their branch occurs — anyone interested in genealogy, haplogroups and the origins of peoples
