Senary Launcher: Home Screen

Senary Launcher replaces your home screen. Built on AOSP Launcher3, the home screen Android itself ships, and designed so everything is within reach of one thumb. FEATURES • Voice: hold the search bar in the dock, say an app's name, let go. Speech is turned into text on your phone and works offline. • Twist twice: twist the phone back and forth to speak an app's name or toggle the torch. Optional. • Quickdrawer: an A–Z app list on the left edge, with an alphabet loupe. • Shelf: cards on the right edge for now playing, weather, your next event and any widget, plus a news page from feeds you choose. • Home editor: rearrange pages, resize icons, and preview icon packs on your real home screen. • Icon packs: theme the home screen, dock and drawer together. • Search: copes with typos, initials and shorthand. The search bar's shape, colour and thickness are yours. • Page transitions: Parallax, Depth, Cylinder, Sweep or flat. • Double-tap to lock: optional, using an accessibility service (see Privacy). • Backup: export your layout to a file, with a preview before you restore. PRIVACY • No account, no server of mine, no analytics, crash reporter or advertising ID. • The network is used only for weather, news headlines and their pictures. An in-app log lists every request. • Location: approximate only, rounded to about a kilometre, used only for weather. • Microphone: used only while you hold the search bar, or after a twist if you turn that on. Speech is turned into text on your phone and is not kept or sent. Senary's own speech model is downloaded once from Google Play when first needed. • Accessibility service: double-tap to lock uses Android's AccessibilityService API, the only way a home screen app can lock the screen. It is optional and off until you switch it on yourself in Android's Accessibility settings, after the app explains it on your first double-tap. It is used only to lock the screen when you double-tap: it reads nothing on your screen, collects no data and sends nothing. Turn it off in Accessibility settings at any time.
