Roll call costs you ten minutes of the session and still doesn't work. Someone always answers for a friend. Sejeli takes attendance from the students' own phones — and checks they are actually in the room before it records anything. THREE WAYS TO KNOW A STUDENT IS THERE A check-in is a claim. Sejeli does not take the student's word for it. Location. You set the room's boundary once, by standing in it. A check-in from outside that circle is refused. A shared code can travel across campus. A location cannot. A code that expires. The code on your screen regenerates every twenty seconds, so a photo of it is already useless by the time it reaches someone at home. Bluetooth — and this is the reason Sejeli exists. Basement labs. Halls with two hundred phones on one access point. Days the campus network simply goes down. Your phone and your students' phones hear each other directly, attendance is recorded in the room with no internet at all, and it syncs by itself when the connection comes back. A form needs the network. A room does not. WHAT YOU GET Import your roster once, at the start of term. Lectures and labs each keep their own timetable and their own roster, so a lab group is measured against its own sessions rather than everyone else's. Set the attendance thresholds your faculty actually uses, not a default. Sejeli measures every student against them and tells you when a warning is due — before exam week, rather than after it. Cancel a session for a public holiday with a reason, and it drops out of every student's percentage instead of counting against them. Watch check-ins land while you teach, and mark a late arrival by hand with the time they actually walked in. When the window closes, the record is final. Export the term to Excel, CSV or PDF whenever the department asks, with nothing to reconcile. ONE STUDENT, ONE PHONE An account binds to a single device when the student registers. Nobody checks in two people from the back row. If a student genuinely changes phone, they ask — and their instructors release it. It is deliberately not something they can do alone. FOR YOUR STUDENTS The student side is one screen. Register once with a student ID, then every session is a single tap, and the phone can sit on the desk with the app open — that is all Bluetooth needs. They see their own attendance percentage and any warning the moment it is issued, so nothing is a surprise at the end of term. A missed check-in tells them there and then, in the room, while it can still be fixed. If a record is wrong, a student can appeal it and attach a photo of a medical note. You decide, from the record. WHO IT IS FOR Sejeli is built for universities, and any instructor at any institution can create an account and run their own courses. It is not limited to one university. Each institution keeps its own directory and its own student ID space, so there is no guessing which "Y. Hany" is yours. WORTH KNOWING BEFORE YOU INSTALL Sejeli is free for instructors, and instructors see no advertising. Students see some, which is what pays for the service — but checking into a session is never behind an advertisement, and neither is seeing your own record. A live check-in needs two devices in the same room: yours running the session, and the student's answering it. That is the whole point of it, and it is worth knowing before you try it alone. Course records clear themselves after the term ends, with a reminder to export first. Attendance is a record of a semester, not something to keep forever. Sejeli was built by a dentistry demonstrator in Egypt whose lab sections kept losing teaching time to attendance, and whose rooms do not always have a signal. It runs on real phones, in real classes.
