Full description

**Meet someone new, without giving up your privacy.** Nearby helps you discover and connect with people around you through end-to-end encrypted chats, voice notes, and calls. Your conversations are designed so only you and the person you're talking to can read or hear them. ## WHY PEOPLE USE IT **💬 Private conversations by design** Every message, voice note, and call is end-to-end encrypted using modern cryptography, including post-quantum key exchange (X25519 + ML-KEM-768) and Ed25519 signatures. Your conversations remain private between you and the people you choose to chat with. **📍 Meet people actually near you** Discover people nearby based on your distance, age, and gender preferences. See who's online now or browse profiles one at a time. **🎲 Feeling Lucky?** Tap **I'm Feeling Lucky** to instantly connect with someone else who is also ready to meet someone new. No waiting for likes or matches. **🎙 Voice notes that just work** Record and send voice messages that are delivered reliably, even when the other person is offline. **📞 End-to-end encrypted calls** Enjoy secure audio and video calls with end-to-end encryption and peer-to-peer connections where possible. **✨ Create a profile that reflects you** Customize your profile with a bio, colors, and text styles to express your personality before the conversation even begins. **🔐 Simple and secure sign in** Sign in quickly and securely with your Google account. **🗑 Stay in control** Delete individual messages, entire conversations, or your account whenever you choose. ## WHAT MAKES NEARBY DIFFERENT Most messaging apps ask you to trust that they'll protect your data. Nearby is built around end-to-end encryption so your conversations are intended to remain private between participants. We don't use your conversations for advertising or personalization, and your messages aren't readable by us during transmission. Whether you're looking to make new friends, have interesting conversations, or simply chat with people nearby, Nearby helps you connect while keeping privacy at the center of the experience.

What's new

✨ When someone unfriends you, their chat moves to a "Former connections" section — you can add them again or remove them from there entirely. 🐛 Fixed a dismissed connection request reappearing as a notification after restarting the app. 🐛 Fixed a stray button showing below connection requests on some Android devices. 🐛 Fixed connection signals sometimes not arriving when the recipient's device was in the background.
