Full description
ScreenQuest turns screen time from a fight into a reward. Instead of doom-scrolling on a tablet, your child earns each minute of screen time by completing quests YOU choose: homework, reading, chores, exercise, music practice — anything that matters to your family. When their bank runs out, the device returns to the ScreenQuest launcher. No more arguments, no more sneaky 11pm YouTube sessions. WHO IT'S FOR ScreenQuest is built for parents of children aged 6 to 10 (Hero Mode). Cub Mode (ages 3–5) and Pro Mode (ages 11–13) are coming in future updates. HOW IT WORKS 1. Set up the kid device once. Install ScreenQuest, sign in, and grant the permissions that let it manage app access. 2. Pick what counts as a quest. Use ScreenQuest's starter pack or create your own: "20 minutes of reading earns 10 minutes," "make the bed earns 5 minutes," "10 squats earns 2 minutes." 3. Your child uses the kid device. ScreenQuest is the home launcher. They open the quest board, complete what's on it, and earned minutes land in their time bank. They spend that time on the apps you've approved. WHAT'S IN THE PARENT DASHBOARD - Set quests and reward amounts - Approve photo-proof quests ("here's my homework") - Push bonus time on a great day - See per-app usage breakdowns - Set School / Bedtime / Free Time schedules - Lock or temporarily unlock specific apps WHAT MAKES SCREENQUEST DIFFERENT - It's not blocking. It's earning. Kids learn that screen time is a reward for effort, not a default to defend. - It's not surveillance. We don't track location, read messages, or share data with anyone outside your account. The only Device Admin capability we use is preventing your child from uninstalling the launcher. - It's not a hostile UI. The kid app is a real launcher with a quest board, a streak flame, and badges — designed to feel like something your child WANTS to open. PRIVACY ScreenQuest stores quest, time bank, and app usage data in a Firebase project tied to your parent account. Data is sent only between the kid device and your parent dashboard — never sold, never shared with advertisers, never used for ads. Read our full policy at https://screenquest-prod.web.app/privacy. PERMISSIONS WE USE - Usage Access: detect which app your child is currently using so the time bank drains correctly. - Device Admin: prevent uninstall without your PIN. - Default home launcher: route your child back to ScreenQuest when their time runs out or a quest completes. - Storage (Photo Proof quests only): upload the photo your child takes as proof, for your approval. - Push notifications: alert you when there's a photo to approve or when a tamper attempt is detected. We do NOT request location, microphone, contacts, SMS, or call log access. Period. WHO BUILDS SCREENQUEST ScreenQuest is built by a solo parent-developer who got tired of the "give me 5 more minutes" loop. Feedback goes straight to the source: [email protected]. — Hero Mode (ages 6–10) is available now. Cub Mode (3–5) and Pro Mode (11–13) are on the roadmap. ScreenQuest is currently free during the Phase 1 launch period.

What's new

Thanks for testing ScreenQuest! This is an early open test — we want your honest feedback. - Kids earn screen time by completing quests and chores - Parents sort each app (always-allowed, earn-to-unlock, time-capped, blocked), set schedules, and approve quests with photo proof Please tell us what's confusing or broken via the feedback link we shared. Thank you!
