A Scoundrel's Tale: Card RPG

A roguelike dungeon crawler built on Scoundrel, the solitaire card game. Every room deals you monsters, weapons and potions, and you choose which to face and which to leave for later. It takes a minute to learn, and you can play it offline. Around it sit a story in five acts and an endless dungeon with a shared daily run. THE STORY Wren is a thief from the canal city of Caul. Book One, The Sunken Coast, follows her through five acts, each with a different guide and a choice at the end. Act I: The Hollow Crown. Wren is hired to rob a drowned keep, and a ghost shows her the way down. Act II: The Debtors' Tide. A debtors' prison by the sea holds its dead until someone pays their debts. Act III: The Tolling Choir. In a town lost in fog, the funeral bell won't stop ringing. Act IV: The Green Assize. A court in the woods has heard the same case for as long as anyone remembers. Act V: The Patient Sea. The sea comes for Caul, and Book One ends on a choice with two very different outcomes. THE LAMPLIGHTER'S ROUNDS Finish Act I and the Rounds open: an endless roguelike dungeon of thirty biomes that changes shape every time you go down. Each run starts at level 1 and ends when you die or stop. In the Day's Round everyone plays the same cards on the same day, and online leaderboards rank the daily and all-time best. • Four skill trees, and in the story your level survives death. • Bosses that each break the rules their own way. • Lanternbearer mode: one life per Depth. • A full original soundtrack. WHAT IT COSTS Act I, the Rounds and the Day's Round are free. A single one-time purchase unlocks Acts II to V for good. That's about four more hours of story. There are no ads, no subscription, no energy timers and no in-game currency. The whole game plays offline. Signing in with Google is optional and only adds cloud saves and the leaderboards.
