Most live wallpapers are a video file on a loop. Lumen is not. Every Lumen scene is drawn from what is actually happening: where the sun really is in your sky, what time it really is, how much charge you really have, where the planets really are, and how you are really holding your phone. Nothing here is a pre-recorded clip playing back at you. That is also why it is gentle on your battery. A Lumen scene draws nothing at all when nothing is happening — no frames, no loop, no background animation. It wakes up when you touch it, when you tilt the phone, when you swipe between home pages, or when the minute changes, and then it settles and stops. A looping video cannot do that; it has to keep playing to exist. THIS IS A TEST BUILD, AND IT HAS TEN SCENES Circuit Horizon is a cold cyan instrument over a sleeping city: the big numeral is your real clock, and the small readouts beside it are your real charge and today's date. Koi Still is a dark pond seen from above — touch the water and a real ripple crosses the whole surface and settles. Orrery puts eight planets where they actually are in the sky tonight. The other seven read the real sun where you are, your battery, your touch, and the tilt of the phone in the same way. The artwork is drawn in code rather than painted, and none of it has been signed off as final — expect it to change. You are here to tell us how it behaves, not how it looks. BUILT TO BE LEFT ON Rendered on demand rather than on a timer, capped at 30 frames per second, and stopped completely the moment your homescreen is not on screen. Below about 15% charge, every scene falls back to its still poster frame on its own. No account. No sign-in. No network. Lumen has no servers to talk to, collects nothing about you, and sends nothing anywhere. The sensor, battery and touch readings it uses are read, drawn, and forgotten.
