Full description
SawPilot runs on the tablet next to your panel saw. It takes your cutting plan and walks you through it one cut at a time: which cut is next and where to set the fence. You check off parts as they come off the saw, and a label prints for each one. The plan itself is made in PanelLogic, or comes from a DXF or a photo; SawPilot does not calculate it. At the saw: • The sheet as it lies on the saw table: numbered parts, dimensions along the edges, and edge banding as a thin line on the banded side. • Only cuts the saw can actually make: edge-to-edge guillotine cuts, checked by a geometry engine, with the blade kerf taken from the plan. • The fence setting already accounts for the edge trim set in the plan. When it's easier, it tells you to measure from the other side. • It suggests the next cut, and you can make any other valid cut instead by tapping its line on the drawing. • Three modes: guided, ticking (you just check parts off) and manual. The mode you pick carries over from one sheet to the next. • It remembers where you left off: close the app, open it again, same cut. It keeps a cut log, and one tap steps back one cut. • Before the first cut, a short check: sizes, cuts, grain, material, edge banding. • Strips you set aside get a letter (A, B, C…), so you can find them in the stack. Part labels: • A label prints automatically for every finished part; strips and offcuts can get a label too. • On the label: part name, project, cabinet, order number, dimensions, the edge banding drawn with its thickness, and the grain arrow. • Your label printer connects over the network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet), over Bluetooth (printers already paired) or by USB cable. Office printers work too, with a PDF sent through the tablet's print dialog. • SawPilot identifies the printer on its own when it can; otherwise you pick it from a list. The first label on a printer you haven't used before is a test print. • Choose the label size from a list or type it in millimeters. Where the plan comes from: PanelLogic, as a file; a DXF from another program; or a photo of the plan, on which you check off the parts with your finger. Who it's for: furniture and cabinet shops that cut on a panel saw or sliding table saw and want the cutting plan and the part labels right at the machine. Made for an Android tablet held in landscape. 30 languages. Your work stays on the tablet, and at the saw it keeps working offline. As long as you don't sign in, only two things leave the tablet: the label, sent to the printer in your own workshop, and the connection to Google Play at start-up, for the buy button and for updates. The internet is needed for the account, the license and buying. No ads. Forty cuts to try for free. A sheet you have started always finishes. The full version is bought inside the app, through Google Play, as a one-time purchase.
