Full description
Saltfloww is the shoot day on the phones of a film or TV unit: the call sheet, the scenes and the clock. It is invite only. Your production office creates the account, and there is nothing to see without one. How you get in Sign-in is a one-time code sent on WhatsApp to the number your production office has registered. There is no sign-up and no trial: a number the office has not added cannot get a code. One login covers every production you are on, and what you can open depends on the permissions you are given. Sign-in lapses after 12 hours without use, and you ask for a new code. On a shoot day - Read today's call sheet, share as text - Open the day's address in a map app - Clock in and out: set, office or home - Filter scenes: blocked, today, ready - Add the pick-up decided on the floor - Continuity stills over a before frame - Log takes: OK, Consider or NG - Take numbers come from the server - Mark cut, meal, company move, actor in - Tick requirements off scene by scene - Confirm a scene as shot at wrap - Raise an internal SOS to your unit Around the unit - Read the schedule and day-out-of-days - Amend the day: unit call and pack-up - Assign a costume look to a scene - Find a garment and file it in a truck - Edit the art breakdown, re-file a prop - Read a location and what blocks it - Ring anyone in the unit book - Search the unit book with no signal - Raise a task, request or approve leave - Read your attendance month by month - See the roster: in, wrapped, on leave - File a bill with a photo; approve one - Read the budget, the pay and the cast - Add a crew member, set who sees it It is written for the floor and the production office: ADs, production managers, costume, art and accounts. With no signal Takes, production log marks, SOS alerts, scene plan changes and bill decisions wait on the phone and go up when a bar returns, and a banner says what is waiting. The screens a shoot day is made of come back from the phone, stamped with how old the copy is; other screens need a connection. Photographs do not wait, and the app says so before the shutter. What you need An Android phone, an account made for you by your production office, and WhatsApp working on the number they registered. Clocking in and out needs a signal at that moment. Location is recorded when you clock in and at no other time, never between clock-in and clock-out. Where your production's policy allows it, you can refuse and a manager records the shift instead. What it does not do The app sends no notifications: nothing reaches a closed phone, and there is no call-time reminder. An SOS is an internal alert to your own unit, not an emergency service, and it reaches the people who have the app open. Expenses and bills are internal records. No money moves through the app, and the day's pay figures can be read but not signed off. There are no PDF or spreadsheet downloads. Post production, invoicing, the talent vault, casting agencies and bulk imports are web work. Set designs are read here and moved on a stage; their photographs are uploaded on the web. There is nothing in the app for an actor, and it is built for a phone in one hand, not a tablet. Support and account deletion: [email protected]

What's new

Dark mode on every screen. Made for tablets, upright and sideways. Video Village: a time code for each camera on a number pad, Director/DOP/actor notes, correct a take later. Production log: actors in and out from the call sheet, photos, plan vs actual. Scene numbers with letters (12A) and better filters. My attendance for the last 3 months. Anyone on the crew can create a task.
