Full description
Kirtan is a quiet companion for daily japa. Choose a mantra, set a count, and recite. The app counts with you — listening for the mantra as you say it aloud, or counting your taps if you would rather sit in silence. The bead ring fills as you go. Nothing else moves on the screen. COUNT THE WAY YOU ACTUALLY PRACTISE • Voice counting that listens for the mantra itself, not a clap • Tap anywhere on the ring — the whole ring is the target, for eyes closed • Gayatri, Maha Mrityunjaya, Hare Krishna and Shiva Panchakshara • Record your own mantra with your own anchor word • Counts of 11, 16, 21, 27, 54 and 108, and 1008 for a deep sitting • Reached your target and not finished? Continue from where you are, without losing the count A SHLOKA EACH DAY • A verse each morning from the Gita, the Upanishads and the Vedas, with Devanagari, transliteration and translation • Listen to it read aloud • Keep the ones you want to return to • Share a verse as a card YOUR SANKALP, KEPT HONESTLY • Take a sankalp — forty days, a thousand japa — and watch the days fill in • A streak that forgives one missed day, because a practice is not a game • A record of every day: what you read, what you recited, what you set aside • An evening question in the manner of svadhyaya — how present were you today? Your answer is never scored, never averaged, and never shown to anyone IN YOUR OWN LANGUAGE हिन्दी, বাংলা, தமிழ், తెలుగు, ಕನ್ನಡ, മലയാളം, অসমীয়া and English — the whole app, not only the verses. WORKS WITHOUT A SIGNAL Everything runs offline. No account is required to use anything central. Your counts, streaks and saved verses stay on your phone unless you choose to sign in. REMINDERS THAT ARRIVE One gentle nudge a day for what is still unfinished — and nothing at all on a day you have already kept. Prayer alarms ring at the time you set. Kirtan is free. All of it — the pronunciation coach, every count up to 1008, every sankalp, unlimited saved verses, all fourteen languages. There is no subscription, no locked feature and no advertising.

What's new

Kirtan is a japa mala counter for daily practice. Count by tap or aloud, in English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Assamese. Set a daily rule and keep it at your own pace. A quiet notice each morning names the day you are on; an evening reminder says what is left. Both are optional, and neither will ever tell you a streak is at risk. A verse each day, saved reflections, and no account needed. Everything works offline.
