Full description
Blaze is a lightweight trail diary built for day hikers and weekend trekkers who want to capture outdoor memories without distractions. The entire experience revolves around a tactile clipboard metaphor, where a weathered metal board holds a folded topographic map secured under a silver bulldog clip. Your hike logs appear as tear-out slips of waterproof paper pinned to the map margin, each connected by a miniature dashed pencil line and a red X that marks your route instead of a simple checkmark. Navigation feels grounded and physical: the bottom tab bar is a row of four coloured carabiners clipped to a horizontal webbing strap, and the active one swings its gate open slightly to confirm your selection. The Camp tab serves as your dashboard, showing hand-stamped counters for total hikes and cumulative distance on a stitched leather patch, backed by a mud-caked boot print watermark and a torn-off snippet of your most recent trip. A quick-action button on this screen lets you jump straight into recording a new hike without browsing away. The Add tab opens a fresh sheet of waterproof paper clipped beneath the map, where you fill in the trail name, hike date, optional distance in kilometres, and any quick notes about conditions or wildlife. Every entry saves directly to your device’s local storage and instantly drops a new pinned slip onto the map. All your hikes live in the Hikes tab, each displayed as a handwritten-style note on its own tear-out map slip showing the trail name, date, and distance at a glance. Tapping any slip opens a simple bottom sheet where you can edit fields or delete the record; the delete action uses a smudge-style undo so a slip can be recovered if you change your mind. The Search tab filters your trail diary by name, presenting matching entries in a compact ruled-paper list that keeps finding past adventures fast and distraction-free. Because everything stays on your phone, Blaze never requires an account, asks for no cloud connections, and keeps your private trail log free from social pressure. It is a focused, offline-ready companion that makes recording a hike feel as satisfying as jotting a note in a trusty field notebook. Start pinning your first trip slip and let the map fill in with a story that is entirely your own.
