Full description
Converting a foreign driving license to a Japanese one — gaimen kirikae — starts with a knowledge test on the rules of the road. This app is how you get ready for it. 1,000 true/false questions and 127 road-sign cards cover the rules you will be asked about. This is preparation for the written test only: the practical driving test and the eyesight check are not part of it. ■ The test is stricter than it looks The knowledge test is 50 questions in 30 minutes, and you have to get 45 of them right — 90% — to pass. The National Police Agency of Japan put the pass rate at 42.8% for October to December 2025. Everyday driving sense is not enough. The numbers and the exceptions are what trip people up, and those you simply have to learn. Every question here follows the road traffic rules that take effect in Japan in September 2026. ■ What is inside • 1,000 true/false questions in 20 sets of 50 Each set mixes the topics the way the real test does. • 127 road-sign study cards Each card gives the meaning, what you have to do when you see it, the mistake people make, and a way to remember it. • An explanation for every question Each one gives the rule behind the answer, the trap the question sets, and where that rule comes from. ■ Main features • Mock test — 50 questions in 30 minutes, 45 to pass, under real exam conditions. Pause any time and the timer picks up where you left off. • Results — how far you are from the pass mark, accuracy by topic, and every question you missed with its explanation. • Practice in blocks of ten — short enough for a commute or a coffee break. • Review your mistakes — the questions you got wrong, in one place until you get them right. • Today's 10 — a daily set drawn from your weakest topics and the questions you missed. • Progress — accuracy by topic, mock test scores over time, and your study streak. • Japanese alongside your language — the Japanese original sits under each translation, for anyone taking the test in Japanese. ■ 21 languages ⁦日本語, English, Tiếng Việt, 中文, 한국어, Português, Español, Bahasa Indonesia, Tagalog, ไทย, Burmese, Khmer, नेपाली, Sinhala, हिन्दी, اردو‎, العربية‎, فارسی‎, Русский, Українська, Монгол⁩ It is not only the questions: the explanations and the sign descriptions are translated too. Arabic, Persian, and Urdu read right to left. ■ Study anywhere, offline Every question and every sign image is already inside the app, so you can study on the train, on a plane, or anywhere else with no signal. Everything stays on this device. The app collects no data, and it goes online only to complete a purchase. ■ About the in-app purchase Set 1 — the first 50 questions — and all 127 road-sign cards are ready to use the moment you install. The other 950 questions unlock with a one-time in-app purchase. One-time purchase. Not a subscription. ■ Please note • This is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, supervised by, or endorsed by the National Police Agency, public safety commissions, or any other government body. • All questions are original practice material based on official public sources. They are not real exam questions. Prefectures write their own exams, so the content of your exam will differ. Check your prefecture's police guidance before your exam date. • Road sign images are learning aids. They must not be mistaken for, or used as, real traffic signage.
