MandaTone: Chinese Tones

MandaTone is a Mandarin Chinese pronunciation app for learners who want clearer feedback on Chinese tones. Record your voice, compare its pitch curve with a reference example, and practise the next step with AI Coach. HOW DOES AI COACH HELP? Coach uses your latest practice results to guide what to work on next. See listening results and recorded-answer scores, with a strong example or an item to revisit when available. Listen to reference audio and start the recommended exercise. This feedback describes that attempt; one high score does not mean you have mastered every sound. WHAT CAN I PRACTISE? Practise the four tones, tone contrasts, tone sandhi (tone changes in connected speech), neutral tone, retroflex sounds such as zh/ch/sh/r, and Chinese initials and finals. Listening and speaking exercises help you compare what you hear with what you say. Useful if you know pinyin and want focused pronunciation practice. CAN I PRACTISE MY OWN CHINESE TEXT? Yes. Type a short Chinese sentence into the Practice Tool, listen to its reference audio, then record and compare your pronunciation. Usage limits are shown in the app. WHERE SHOULD I START? Try the four-prompt check: two listening and two speaking prompts. It helps choose a starting practice; it is not a full assessment of your Mandarin level. Later practice results give Coach more information for the next recommendation. CAN I RETURN TO MY RESULTS? Review saved reports and compare your attempts. You can stop after a practice and return to Coach for the next recommended exercise when you are ready. WHAT IS FREE? The first two Coach courses are free for each account. Additional Coach course access may require a subscription. Course access is confirmed before you start; feature usage limits and subscription options are shown in the app. MICROPHONE AND AI CHOICE Microphone access is needed to record your voice. AI-assisted Coach features ask for your consent before AI processing. You can decline and continue standard assessment and course practice.
