Crates arrive stencilled with a tag - HAZMAT, FOOD, HEAVY, FRAGILE, LIVESTOCK, COLD CHAIN. Drag them into the hold, tap to turn them, and the container ships only when it is packed solid with no regulation broken. Get it wrong and the load is HELD AT GATE with the infraction codes printed across it. Three to five minutes a manifest. One thumb. THE REGULATIONS DO THE DESIGN WORK §1.1 The container ships full. No gaps. §2.3 Heavy freight rests on the floor or on other heavy freight. §2.4 Nothing rests on fragile freight. It reaches the ceiling. §3.1 Hazardous goods may not touch food. §4.2 Livestock must touch a side wall. §5.0 Cold chain travels as one connected block. ON THE DOCKET - Two freight lines.
