Rescue Vehicle

Rescue Vehicle is the on-board app for emergency response vehicles. It runs on the tablet in the cab and serves the driver and the crew, from the moment a call is assigned until the vehicle is back at the station. This is not a consumer app. It only works if your organisation uses the Rescue platform and the tablet has been paired to a vehicle with a code issued by an administrator. WHAT IT DOES Current call. Emergency code, type, address and description come from the dispatch centre and stay on screen for the whole run, with the time elapsed since the call was opened. Deployment status. At the station, en route, on scene, returning, back: one tap and the dispatch centre knows. With no signal the change waits in a queue and is sent as soon as the connection returns, carrying the time the button was actually pressed. Navigation. Route and turn by turn directions inside the app, announced by voice, or the navigation app you normally use. Where the vehicle dimensions have been recorded, the route accounts for height, width, length and mass and avoids the limits that are mapped. Maps stored on the vehicle. When a call is assigned, the app downloads the map tiles along the route with a one kilometre band on each side, so the road is still visible in a tunnel or where there is no coverage. Stored areas can be reviewed and deleted from the settings. Position shared with the dispatch centre. The centre sees where the vehicle is and coordinates its arrival on scene. Vehicle record. Plate, mileage, fuel, water and foam, all editable from the tablet without going back to the station computer. Diagnostics. Outgoing queue, permissions, app version and connection state, so it takes thirty seconds to tell whether the problem is the tablet or the line. BACKGROUND LOCATION This app collects location data to share the vehicle's position with the dispatch centre even when the app is closed or not in use. It is used to coordinate the emergency response, follow vehicles on their way and guide them to the scene.
