Founded in 1987 on a simple idea—an American station dedicated to helping newcomers feel at home—our mission has grown with the city itself. Today we reach more than 500,000 listeners with a mix of local news, interviews, cultural programs, traffic and weather updates, community announcements, and practical guidance for life in Chicagoland. Our audience spans many backgrounds, including Ukrainians, Belarusians, Armenians, Lithuanians, Latvians, Poles, Bulgarians, and others from across Eastern Europe and beyond.
