Full description
RadianceCalc is a fast, offline reference calculator for radiation oncology professionals — medical physicists, radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and residents in training. It does the linear-quadratic arithmetic you would otherwise do on a scrap of paper between plan checks, and it shows its work. WHAT IT DOES • BED and EQD2 — convert any dose and fractionation, with a cited alpha/beta • Fractionation conversion — move a prescription between schedules • EBRT + HDR combination — add external beam and brachytherapy contributions • Course summation — total any number of previous courses • Limit check — see how much dose is left before a published limit • Gap compensation — account for treatment interruptions and repopulation • Re-irradiation assessment — with the recovery assumption stated, not hidden • Calculation history — saved on your device, exportable, no patient identifiers PUBLISHED LIMITS, WITH SOURCES More than 600 organ-at-risk limits from 24 sources: AAPM TG-101, QUANTEC, the AAPM HyTEC reports, Emami 1991, EMBRACE-II, GEC-ESTRO ACROP, ABS cervix HDR, UK SABR 2022, RTOG and NRG trial protocols (0631, 0724, 0924, 1005, 1016, 1112, BR002, CC001, LU001), CHHiP and FAST-Forward, plus PENTEC risk estimates for children. Every limit names its source on screen, and sources that have been superseded say so. Search by source name to see one document's limits. GRAY OR CENTIGRAY Set the display to Gy or cGy in Settings. US departments chart in cGy, most of the rest of the world in Gy. It is a display setting only — the calculation, the stored records, and the published limits are always in gray, so switching units can never change a result. BUILT TO BE VERIFIED, NOT TRUSTED Every result shows the model behind it and the alpha/beta it assumed. The app flags where the linear-quadratic model stops being reliable instead of quietly extrapolating. It is a reference, and it is built to be checked. PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION • No internet permission at all — the app cannot transmit anything, by manifest • No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising identifiers • Every calculation runs on your device • Backups carry your display settings only, never calculation data This is not a privacy promise, it is a build constraint. The internet permission is removed from the merged manifest, so no future library can add it silently. IMPORTANT RadianceCalc is an educational and reference calculator for qualified radiation oncology professionals. It is not a medical device. It is not FDA cleared or approved and it is not CE marked. It must never be the sole basis for a prescription, a plan approval, or any treatment decision, and it must not be used to direct the care of an individual patient on its own. Verify every result against your own institution's protocols, your treatment planning system, and the primary literature before it informs any clinical action.

What's new

• New design and new logo. • 295 more organ limits from 16 sources: RTOG/NRG trials, HyTEC, CHHiP, FAST-Forward, ABS cervix HDR, PENTEC (children). • Search limits by source name, e.g. "RTOG 1016". • Corrected: Nieder cord 135.5 Gy2, TG-101 cord 3 fx, UK SABR lung mean dose, two Emami rows. • Gy or cGy display; default doses follow your unit. • History is stored in Gy and shows every input.
