Blubing: Offline Nearby Chat

Blubing is a messenger that works without the internet. It finds the people around you, within about 50 metres, and lets you chat, plan and play with them over Bluetooth. Everything is end-to-end encrypted. Your phone is the network. Nothing else is. Blubing doesn't use a server or a mobile signal. Phones running Blubing find each other over Bluetooth Low Energy and pass messages directly. When a friend is out of reach, messages travel through other Blubing phones nearby, sealed so they can't be read on the way. HOW IT WORKS • Open the app and pick a name, an emoji and a colour. There's no sign-up, email or phone number. • Everyone nearby with Blubing open shows up on your radar. • Wave, chat, start a group or a game. If someone walks out of range, your message waits and is delivered when you meet again. CHAT WITH ZERO SIGNAL Festivals, flights, campuses, hikes, crowded stadiums: Blubing works where the mobile network doesn't. • Read receipts, replies, reactions and typing indicators • Photos, files and voice notes, sent phone to phone • Disappearing messages, with a timer you choose GROUPS, POLLS AND STICKERS • Private groups, with every message sealed separately for each member • Polls in any chat or group • 18 animated Blu stickers and a full set of Blu emoji A ROOM AND A BOARD FOR RIGHT HERE Talk to everyone in range at once, or pin a post for the people around you: invites with a time and place, public votes, offers, notes, and lost and found. Posts are signed by their author and fade away after a few hours. FIND FRIENDS IN A CROWD Lost each other at the concert? Ask to find your friend. Once they say yes, Blubing shows how close they are. It uses Bluetooth signal strength, not GPS or location, and sharing stops after 10 minutes. PLAY TOGETHER, OFFLINE Chess, Four in a Row, Reversi, Dots and Boxes and Gomoku with the person across the table, or solo against Blu. Imposter and Bluff Dice for a whole group. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • End-to-end encrypted: each message is sealed for the person it's meant for. • No internet permission: Blubing can't reach a server, and you can check that in its Android permissions. • No account: your identity is a key made on your phone. • Stays on your phone: chats and contacts are stored only on your device. • Check it's really them: compare six Blus with your friend side by side. • Ghost mode, app lock, and a panic wipe that erases every chat and your identity at once.
