Full description
Pagan is a mobile-first music sequencer. Instead of taking what works in a desktop setup and trying to smoosh that into a pocket-size interface, Pagan was made from the ground up - all-the-while reconsidering what is intrinsic to music and what is an artifact of systems created while numeracy was still considered heretical. ======== No staves, No piano-roll, No keyboard ======== No need to learn an entirely new interface to input archaic glyphs and scribbles. No need to filter your music through C Major by introducing a piano. Notes are just numbers. What's more intuitive to calculate? How many semi-tones between A and C# or how many steps between 0 and 4? ============= Bring Your Own Soundfonts =============== Pagan uses .sf2 soundfonts so you're not limited to factory settings. Do you want to use the synth from one soundfont but the drums from another? No problem! You can load multiple at once. ==================== Midi Support ===================== Play your creations through your favourite midi device or import, reorchestrate and export .mid files. ========== Polyrhythm and Stepless Sequencing ========= Have you ever been working on a step sequencer only to need to get out Euler's method to calculate a polyrhythm? With Pagan, you don't set a step count, you just divide the beats up however you want. ==== Microtonality and Variable-Temperament Tuning ====== Have you ever wanted to play with more than 12 tones? Have you ever wondered what 16 or 21 tone equal temperament tuning sounds like? Pagan defaults to the familiar 12, but can be easily changed to any number you want. ====================== Exporting ====================== It wouldn't be useful if you couldn't share your creations. Pagan can export a project into either a single .wav file or separate each line or channel for further processing. =============== Made without genAI. =================== Music is an expression of human experience. Our instruments should be too. Pagan was (and always will be) made entirely **WITHOUT** the use of chatbots (or generative AI of any ilk). Nor will it ever introduce generative functionality.

What's new

- Box selection can now include both notes and effects - Copying/Moving between standard and percussion now possible - Improvement to note tails - Pan modulators within soundfont are now ignored Bug fixes: - Setting day/night was sometimes causing infinite loop - Line/Channel/Beat context menus weren't updating on Remove - Long notes were sometimes losing their tails
