Full description
Tunnelkey is an open-source VPN client for OpenVPN servers protected with two-factor authentication. If your company VPN asks for your password followed by the 6-digit code from an authenticator app, Tunnelkey makes that a single tap. Built for password + authenticator code Many OpenVPN servers with a TOTP plugin expect the code glued to the password, for example "hunter2" + "123456" sent as "hunter2123456". Tunnelkey does this for you: • Turn on two-factor for a profile and choose whether the code goes after or before the password • Enter the 6- or 8-digit code in large, easy-to-hit boxes, or paste it • See exactly how it will be sent, without revealing your password • Profiles using OpenVPN's static-challenge are supported too Set up by your administrator in one scan Your IT team can prepare everything on the self-hosted Tunnelkey provisioning server and show you a QR code. Scan it and Tunnelkey switches to a clean, single-configuration mode: • The VPN profile, username and optional password are installed for you • With a provisioned 2FA secret the app generates the code itself – connecting needs no typing at all • If the server rejects a code at the edge of its 30-second window, Tunnelkey waits for the next code and retries automatically • Shortcuts to intranet sites, Remote Desktop computers (opens Microsoft's Windows App) and other apps sit right under the Connect button • Large profiles are split across several QR codes that can be scanned in any order Locked down • Stored passwords and 2FA secrets are encrypted with keys kept in the Android Keystore • A configuration that holds secrets must be locked with your fingerprint or face, or with an 8-digit PIN • Easy PINs are refused: repeats (11111111), runs (12345678), pairs (11223344), dates, keypad patterns • Wrong PINs cause growing delays, and the tenth erases the configuration • The app re-locks after 30 seconds in the background Private by design • No account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking • Tunnelkey does not run VPN servers: your traffic goes only to the server in your profile, operated by you or your organisation • Nothing is ever sent to the developer Also a regular OpenVPN client • Import any .ovpn profile from Files, email or the share menu • Certificate-only profiles, username/password profiles and saved passwords • Built on the proven OpenVPN 3 core with mbed TLS • Live connection status, traffic counters and a connection log for troubleshooting How it uses the VPN Tunnelkey uses Android's VpnService only to create the encrypted OpenVPN tunnel to the server you configured. It does not inspect, log, modify or redirect your traffic. Open source Tunnelkey is free software under the GNU AGPL v3. Source code for the Android and iOS apps and the provisioning server: https://github.com/kalipsers/TunnelKey Tunnelkey requires access to an OpenVPN server; it is not a VPN service on its own. "OpenVPN" is a registered trademark of OpenVPN Inc. Tunnelkey is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenVPN Inc.

What's new

What's new: • OpenVPN client with password + authenticator code (TOTP) sign-in • Setup by QR code or encrypted .tunnelkey file: single-configuration mode, 2FA codes generated on the phone, intranet, Remote Desktop and app links • Fingerprint/face or strong 8-digit PIN lock • Clear explanation of how the VPN is used • Unreachable servers stop after 30 seconds • Import from files, share menu or clipboard • English and Slovak • Disconnecting no longer gets stuck
