Full description
Jorip turns land measurement in Bangladesh into something you can check. Type an amount in any unit and every other unit follows instantly — katha, bigha, chatak, shotangsho (decimal), kani, gonda, kora, kranti, acre, hectare, square feet, square metre, square hat, square gaz. Enter a plot the way a deed writes it — 1 bigha 5 katha 8 chatak — and read it back in square feet. WHY THE NUMBERS ARE DIFFERENT HERE Most land tables in circulation are copies of one published chart, and that chart contains real arithmetic errors. It states 1 acre as 43,200 square feet in one place and 43,569 in another (it is 43,560). It gives 1 chatak as 320 square hat (it is 20). It prints 1 bigha = 33 shotangsho as an exact figure when the true value is 33.06 — a difference that is worth real money on a city plot. Every value in Jorip is computed exactly from a single base, the square foot. Nothing is chained through a rounded figure. The in-app guide shows the corrected table and explains what to watch for. KANI IS NOT ONE SIZE Three different kani are in daily use — 17,280 sq ft (8-hat nol), 17,424 sq ft (40 shotok), and 52,272 sq ft (120 decimal). That is a difference of 200%, and no app can guess which one your district means. Jorip asks you, shows the square footage of each so you can verify the choice, and adjusts the whole gonda–kora–kranti ladder with it. EVERY UNIT IS YOURS TO CORRECT Local measure varies. If a katha where your land is is not 720 square feet, change it — Settings → Units lets you edit the value of any unit, hide the ones you never use, and add units of your own by describing them in a unit you already know ("1 local katha = 1.5 katha"). One tap puts any of them back. MEASURE A PLOT FROM ITS SIDES Rectangle, square, triangle, right triangle, four-sided plot, trapezium, circle, or several parts added together. Measure in feet, hat, gaz, metre, link, chain or inches. A labelled diagram shows which number goes where. Four sides alone do not fix an area — a four-sided plot can flex — so Jorip asks for one diagonal and explains why. Apps that compute an area from four sides are guessing. LAND PRICE Work out the total from a rate, the rate from a total, or how much land a budget buys. Large amounts are shown in words — "2 crore 10 lakh" — the way a price is actually spoken, and grouped in lakh rather than in thousands. Add a percentage for registration and other costs if you want them included. DIVIDE A PLOT Split land into equal shares, or by a ratio such as 3:2:1, and read each share in the unit you use. This is arithmetic on the numbers you enter — it is not legal or inheritance advice. KEEP YOUR PLOTS Save a measurement with a name and a note. Your plots stay on your phone: Jorip has no account, no sign-up and no server, and nothing you enter is ever used to choose an ad. Take a backup file whenever you want one, and restore it on a new phone. BANGLA AND ENGLISH The whole app is in Bangla or English, with Bangla numerals and lakh–crore grouping, so a figure reads the way you would write it. WORKS OFFLINE Every calculation, measurement and saved plot works with no connection. The app is small and opens instantly. Jorip is free and supported by full-screen ads, which are the only thing that needs the internet. Jorip is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government department or land office. Unit names follow the Ministry of Land's published list; the conversion values are computed exactly rather than copied, for the reasons above.
