A NOTE ON PERMISSIONS & HOW THE VPN WORKS Ghostwall's VPN permission creates a local, on-device tunnel only — it is never routed through servers Ghostwall operates, and there's no VPN backend on our end. That tunnel is what lets the app inspect DNS requests (blocked domains are dropped on-device; everything else is forwarded to the DoH resolver you choose) and enforce your firewall rules. When Tor is enabled, your traffic instead exits through the public Tor network, not through us. Location permission powers GPS spoofing only — your real location is never read or transmitted. Wi-Fi network name is read only to match Privacy Profiles you've set up yourself.
