Pourista prompts you at every step of a pour-over: when to pour, how much and how fast. What it does: • Step-based recipes. A step is a duration plus the water to add: "50 g over 45 seconds". Flow rate and pour time are interchangeable: edit one and the other is recalculated. • Live guidance. The step target next to the scale reading, how many grams are left, a ring timer with a mark where the pour should end, and a hint on how to pour the next one compared with the one just finished. • A pour ends by fact, not by the clock. It counts as finished once the weight has passed the target, or almost reached it and stopped growing. • Automatic finish. The brew ends by itself when the dripper or the cup is lifted off the scale, and the history keeps the moment it was lifted rather than the moment that was noticed. • Rescaling to the actual dose. Ground 15.4 g instead of 15.0? The recipe is scaled by the ratio. It can be switched off when the extra coffee was deliberate. • 4:6 generator. Tetsu Kasuya's method: set the dose, the water, the taste balance and the strength — and get a ready recipe. • Grind converter. Pick the make and the model, enter your own setting and get the tick on another grinder, the particle size in microns and the brewing methods such a grind suits. 206 models from 66 makes, works with no network. • Recording a recipe from a real pour. The app splits the brew into steps itself, rounds the grams and the seconds and opens the result in the editor. • Sharing recipes. A .pour file opens straight in the app: the recipe is added and becomes the current one. Import and export work as a file and through the clipboard. • History. Weight and flow-rate curves for every cup, notes on the beans, the roaster and the grind, and a search across them. • Cues. Sound and vibration on a step change, a countdown before a pour and a separate cue a few grams before the target. They play on the alarm stream so they can be heard over a noisy kettle.
