PoolDose: Salt Pool Calculator

PoolDose is a salt water pool calculator and pool chemical calculator for the person who owns the pool, not the lab. Snap a photo of a wet test strip or type in your readings, and PoolDose works out the exact amount to add — in cups, ounces and pounds, sized to your gallons and your chlorine type. No ads. Not one. ▶ READ THE TEST STRIP FROM A PHOTO ✓ Reads standard 6-in-1 and 7-in-1 pool test strips — not tied to one brand ✓ Free chlorine, total chlorine, pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid and salt ✓ A confidence score on every pad, so you can fix a misread before it reaches the math ✓ Rather type the numbers? Manual entry works any time, and the calculator needs no account ▶ SALT WATER POOL CALCULATOR ✓ Enter your salt reading and get the pounds of pool salt to add ✓ Salt pools get their own free chlorine and stabilizer targets ✓ Tells you when to turn up your salt chlorinator's output ✓ Liquid chlorine, chlorine tabs or cal-hypo pool instead? Same app ▶ POOL CHEMICAL CALCULATOR: THE EXACT DOSE, NOT A RANGE ✓ Liquid chlorine 12.5%, cal-hypo 65%, dichlor 56% ✓ Soda ash to raise pH, muriatic acid to bring it down ✓ Baking soda for total alkalinity ✓ Calcium chloride for calcium hardness ✓ Stabilizer (cyanuric acid) when the sun is eating your chlorine ✓ Every level shown LOW, OK or HIGH against its target range ▶ POOL SHOCK CALCULATOR ✓ Combined chlorine worked out from your free and total chlorine ✓ A shock dose when combined chlorine reaches 0.5 ppm or free chlorine hits zero ✓ Cloudy or green water? You get the shock amount for your gallons in one number ▶ IN THE RIGHT ORDER ✓ Doses sequenced, with the wait time before the next chemical ✓ When nothing can bring a level down (stabilizer, calcium), PoolDose tells you what share of the water to drain and refill ▶ POOL VOLUME CALCULATOR ✓ Don't know your gallons? The pool volume calculator takes length, width and average depth for a rectangular-pool estimate ✓ Gallons or liters — units follow your phone's region, and you can switch any time in Settings ▶ TRENDS AND DRIFT ALERTS ✓ Every reading saved and charted over 7 days, 30 days or the whole season ✓ Drift alerts like "pH is rising and should pass 7.6 in about 4 days" ✓ Fix the cause once instead of re-dosing the same thing every Saturday ▶ OPEN AND CLOSE THE POOL ✓ Spring opening checklist, in the order the chemistry wants ✓ Winter closing checklist, so nothing is forgotten in October ▶ BUILT FOR THE POOL DECK ✓ Readings save offline and sync later ✓ A weekly test reminder on the day and time you choose ✓ "Chemicals so far": an approximate running total of what your saved doses cost ✓ In-app languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Lithuanian ▶ FREE AND PREMIUM Free, no account: the calculator — enter readings, get doses. Free account: 1 pool, your last 7 readings and 3 photo test strip scans. Premium: unlimited pools, full history, trends and drift alerts, seasonal checklists and up to 20 photo scans a day. WHO IT'S FOR Owners of inground and above-ground pools — salt water, liquid chlorine, tabs or cal-hypo — who are tired of guessing. If you have ever stood over a bucket wondering whether that was two cups or three, this is the app. PoolDose does the chemistry math. It does not replace the instructions on your chemicals: always read the label, never mix products in the same container, and always add chemical to water — never water to chemical.
