FIND THE FAULT Every call-out starts with a vague line. “The sockets died.” “The kitchen keeps tripping.” Nobody tells you it is a loose neutral, a dead lamp, a borrowed earth, or a damp RCD. Open the fittings. Meter the circuit. Write the diagnosis on the job sheet — then repair it properly. SAFE ISOLATION MCB off. Lock it. Prove the meter. Prove it dead. The right tool for the step: screwdriver, strippers, multimeter, thermal camera if you bought one. Strip, land, torque, tug test. Workmanship is what they pay. RUN THE FIRM The board is ringing.
